CTOnews.com, September 2, according to a document publicly disclosed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Apple satellite service provider Globalstar recently paid $64 million (CTOnews.com Note: about 465 million yuan) to Musk's SpaceX to launch satellites and further expand Apple's iPhone series of SOS satellite services during the 2023-2025 period.

When Apple launched the iPhone 14 series of models last year, it introduced emergency SOS technology, which allows emergency contact with families and rescue workers by satellite without Wi-Fi and cellular network coverage.

The satellite SOS service is provided by Globalstar, which secured $252 million in financing from Apple and bought $327 million worth of satellite equipment from a Canadian company before Apple launched the iPhone 14 series.
