According to foreign media WinFuture, GoPro's new flagship sports camera HERO12 Black is not much different from the previous generation of HERO11 Black in specifications, and the biggest improvement is battery life. Equipped with 1720mAh's replaceable battery, the camera can record about 70 minutes of video at 5.3K resolution and 60FPS frame rate, and about 90 minutes at 30FPS frame rate, 10 minutes more than the previous generation. At the lowest setting, that is, 1080p resolution and 30FPS frame rate, HERO12 Black can record more than 2.5 hours of video, 13 minutes more than the previous generation.

According to the report, HERO12 Black originally planned to use a 1-inch sensor, but ended up using a smaller 1-inch 1.9-inch sensor. The camera can take still pictures up to 27MP, as well as videos with a resolution of up to 5.3K and a 60FPS frame rate. HERO12 Black also supports HyperSmooth 6.0technology, which can provide better image stabilization when recording video.
