(CTOnews.com Note: about 10.905 billion yuan)

Vickers announced the five-year investment plan to mass-produce advanced foldable substrates in South Korea to mark the 50th anniversary of the company's first factory in South Korea.

Vickers said the new factory, located in Yashan, South Korea's Chungli Province, is responsible for mass production of the next generation of gorilla glass for smartphones and car screens, citing official reports that the ultra-thin, flexible glass has a high degree of flexibility and can be folded and unfolded hundreds of thousands of times.

Vickers said the new glass has been used in Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 phones and will be supplied not only to Korean customers such as Samsung, but also to other companies around the world after mass production.

Vickers said South Korea will become a global center for the manufacture of flexible glass.
