Why did AIGC happen? Share some of my understanding.

In August last year, AI painted a picture of the "Space Opera House" and won the first prize in the digital art digital photography unit at the Colorado State Fair in the United States, which became a big news for AI to enter the vision of human public opinion. People think AI is cool, the painting is so flashy, the whole world has realized that AI is so powerful.

I think it makes sense to describe ChatGPT as an omniscient middle-aged literary man. In fact, ChatGPT solves one problem. It uses a big model to predict what your next word is.

ChatGPT output complete sentences to make you feel that you can communicate with it clearly, is a very talented literary man, of course, some of its content may not be so accurate, this is an evolutionary process. Why is AIGC so good? I share some of the logic behind it.

In fact, this wave of AI is called artificial neural network, which simulates the human brain. The human brain is made up of tens of billions of neurons, each of which has a trace ability to store and calculate, with electrical connections in the middle. The AI rules of this generation think that it is difficult to defeat the human brain in an all-round way, so just simulate a human brain and simulate an algorithm with such a structure, but the problem is that the human brain is still too powerful, and the human brain is too large.

It was not until 2018 that the top chips reached the number of neurons in the human brain. Because the human brain does not evolve rapidly and AI is rapidly evolving, AI will be closer and closer to humans after 2018. There is a test under GPT's model that when your math power, data, and model parameters continue to add up, your error rate decreases.

Today, you asked AI to take the college entrance examination. It scored 100 points, but you don't think it will work. Tomorrow or a month later, it will actually get 200 points, and in another month it may be 400 points. AI is constantly evolving, which is terrible. Even if some dimensions can't be reached now, it may surpass you in three months, which is a surprise and delight for us as technicians, but it is also something we are actively embracing.

To sum up, why did AIGC happen in 2023? It is because of the algorithm and model based on artificial neural network, combined with the massive Internet data and the computing power of the chip, the superposition of these three core dimensions broke through the critical point and brought about the explosion of AIGC species, just like the Cambrian explosion, a large number of creatures suddenly emerged on the earth.

So what are we doing through AIGC? First of all, Kujiale is a tool, we are generating a lot of content every day, about 40 or 500000 designs are generated on the platform every day, generating more than 3 million effect images, so we are a GC (Generated Content, content generation) tool, nothing more than AI. Of course, we have also accumulated a relatively strong computing power and data, we now have more than 10,000 high-performance computing servers, as well as huge amounts of data, so we have the opportunity to come up with our own excellent model to make some AI applications.

Let me describe it abstractly, it turns out that Kujiale is doing the work of the following black box, is a modeling tool, through human input to output some pictures or other content, our new AI tool (Kujiale AI) has come, it has more modes, and then more AI drawing, faster.

Then we made a Copilot to deliver such a system in a new way. To sum up in one sentence, we hope to promote the change of CAD software from the traditional end-based manual mode to the big data-based intelligent cloud computing model, which we think is a very likely change.

It has several applications, for example, this is a Copilot, the owner enters some requirements, his household type, demographic structure, preferred design style, etc., the system will automatically generate two preliminary design solutions, of course, this scheme is not necessarily the first choice, at this time you can interact with the machine, enter some concrete requirements, such as more space for family activities, increase the window to enlarge the lighting, and so on. It is rearranged based on the previous design.

When the design plan is formed, we will go to the designer to deepen it, which is an application that we are testing internally. Copilot is designed in the form of an intelligent assistant.

In June, Kujiale released "Cool AI", which can quickly generate a picture through some simple input, and then deepen the design, which can be played directly on the consumer side, which was previously unimaginable.

And the iteration of AI ability is very fast. We released version 1.0 on June 29, and then released version 2.0 on July 27. There is a big upgrade, that is, you can enter some description words, define the scene, and make the adaptation of the picture effect. For example, open a multi-functional restaurant with coffee, light food, readability and industrial style, which is suitable for weekends. Let always feel that the taste of the picture is more in line with the specific needs.

What impact will AIGC have on the industry?

How do we understand the impact of AIGC on the industry? It's like on the first day of the Spring and Autumn period, how did you think that iron could affect the competition and final unity in the warring States period? Ma Huateng said earlier that he didn't understand it at first, but later he felt more and more that AIGC was an once-in-a-century opportunity similar to the industrial revolution.

I very much agree with this view. For the first time in human history, the Industrial Revolution can make what you want on a large scale, efficiently and cheaply. For example, my clothes, shoes and cars are all manufactured by industry, and it is very cheap to buy them.

Some people may say that Rolls-Royce claims to be handmade and still the most expensive car, but what is handmade is only the leather part of the interior of the car, which is a cultural export, and no one dares to drive a car with an engine made by hand. If you fly, the engine is made by hand, then no one dares to sit on it, so the significance of the industrial revolution lies in the best quality products, the cheapest products, the most industrialized products.

Of course, as a secondary industry, the proportion of industry is not so high, and the largest proportion is in the service industry. 55% of GDP in China and 82% of GDP in the United States are all service industries, all of which I have just mentioned, including lawyers, design, travel, travel and other services. why is AI likely to subvert the world like the industrial revolution?

In my opinion, it can subvert the service industry and bring about the popularity of high-end service industry, just like the impact of the industrial revolution on manufacturing. The best products are industrialized. Maybe in the future, the best design service is not made by people, it is made by machines, or at least it is done by people plus important machines.

If this "AI machine" has designed tens of thousands of programs, has done both the elderly plan and the baby plan, has done both large and small units, has done both the northern region and the southern region, and knows both doors and windows and customization, it is possible to give you a relatively optimal solution.

The popularity of such high-end services is already taking place. Lawyers and doctors, which are the most expensive in foreign countries, are already using AI as a preliminary information consultation. Of course, there is a question here: will designers in our industry lose their jobs?

I recently saw a piece of news that the first subverted section of AI is a radiologist, because his job is to watch X-rays or CT, but in fact, this change does not bring about layoffs of radiologists, but more demand in the industry, because this service is more standardized, more general, more people are needed to communicate with patients, and there will be more new demand links to enlarge the work done by people.

So in my understanding, the future may be a model of heterogeneous computing, the two capabilities are superimposed, and the work that must be done by people will be done by people, and AI will become your assistant, just like AI in Iron Man, what you ask it, it will fix it, but in the end, it is the person who saves the world, changes the world, and solves problems, so the formation of heterogeneous computing between people and AI may be a new model in the future. This model will bring about the real popularization of the high-end service industry and subvert the whole service industry.

Many people say whether AI will subvert me or someone. I don't think so. It will never be AI who will replace you, but the person who uses AI.
