Cogni, a new digital banking platform, will support Apple Pay shortly after its launch on March 20.
According to the Financial Technology Times:
Upon launch, Cogni will offer free digital bank accounts without minimum fees, free withdrawals from more than 55000 ATMs, free peer-to-peer transactions, virtual and physical debit cards, creation of one-time debit cards to prevent functional fraud and hidden recurrent expenses, as well as a variety of capital options: cash deposits through Visa Redylink, in-app check deposits (available in the first week of April), direct deposits, ACH transfers and P2P.
Cogni is a "people-oriented" bank application Visa card with no hidden fees. With quick application and instant access, Cogni can easily track your balances, reports, and activities without any hidden expenses.
There are many ways to recharge, pay and transfer money. Importantly for this report, Cogni has confirmed that it will release "soon" on March 20 and will support Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Venmo, Paypal and Square.
According to the Financial Technology Times:
So far, Cogni has raised $6.6 million. Investors include CXO Fund, Scott Minerd (co-founder, investment chairman and global chief investment officer of Guggenheim Partners), Hanwa Investment Securities, Extol Capital, WorldQuant Ventures, Barclays, Harder Fu Yunru's Gregg Kidd, etc.
The company has also recently recruited three senior positions. Liam Cannan, former chief financial officer and vice president of finance at Tatar Group, and Scott Loew, former platform director at FEV. Dion Davis, Citi's former head of customer experience, has been hired as vice president of member services and is in the process of setting up a headquarters team to manage this important function.
