The car is specially designed to commemorate the last year of the Golf GTI manual gear in the US market. It uses a 2.0L EA888 engine with a maximum power of 242hp, an acceleration time of 6.3s at 0100km / h and a top speed of 155mph. It also has a black roof and rearview mirror, red interior decoration, black 19-inch wheels and unique graphite gray metal paint. In addition, the new car is equipped with a dynamic chassis control (DCC) kit to improve handling performance.

Volkswagen Golf GTI manual gear has been in the US market for 47 years and has been using a golf ball shift since 1976. However, due to the influence of Euro VII emission regulations, Volkswagen decided to cancel the manual gear model and offer only the automatic gear version when it makes a medium-term overhaul of the Golf series in 2024. The move will also affect US-made Golf GTI and R models. Peter Danilovic, head of VW's US product marketing and strategy department, said: "GTI 380s are our thanks to enthusiasts who have loved manual GTI for more than 40 years."

The GTI 380s commemorative edition, which will go on sale in North America in the early fall, starts at $32485 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 237000 yuan) and is available in three configurations, up to the Autobahn version priced at $40625 (currently about 296000 yuan). The name of the car refers to the internal model of the current eighth-generation golf and pays tribute to the previous special edition of the GTI 337based on the fourth-generation golf.
