The report pointed out that in the PC field, thanks to Intel Meteor Lake processor only supports DDR5 and LPDDR5, promoting the popularity of DDR5 memory, it is expected to surpass DDR4 to become mainstream in the second half of 2024, so the average DRAM capacity is expected to increase by 12.4%.

PC Client SSD growth is not as good as PC DRAM, and the average annual growth rate of loading capacity is estimated to be only about 8 - 10%. As most consumers 'usage habits gradually shift to cloud operations, there is less demand for laptops with large-capacity storage space, and even if the 1TB model increases, the 512GB model is still the mainstream of consumption.

On the server side, the average capacity growth rate of Server DRAM is estimated to reach 17.3%, mainly due to the generation transition of server platforms, the increased dependence of CSP services on CPU core matching RAM, and the high demand for AI server computing load.

In terms of UFS and eMMC, the demand for image storage and the increase of 5G penetration rate will drive the average carrying capacity of smartphones to increase. However, under the condition that the original factory reduces production to brew price increase, the cost control of smartphone OEM will be more cautious, and the planning of more than 1TB of mid-and low-end models in 2024 may be reduced.
