CTOnews.com August 31, the market research firm Counterpoint Research yesterday released a report on global smartwatch shipments in the second quarter of 2023; today it released a follow-up report saying that smartwatch shipments in China increased by 5 per cent in the second quarter.

In the report, broken down by brand, CTOnews.com attached the following information:

Huawei: 58% year-on-year growth in the second quarter. While older models such as Huawei's Watch GT 3 series are selling well, the latest launches of Huawei Watch 4 and Huawei Watch 4 Pro models are popular with consumers. In addition, Huawei Watch Ultimate watches give it a larger share of the ultra-high-end smartwatch market.

Little genius (step by step): thanks to many factors, such as the liberalization of the epidemic and the back-to-school season, small genius shipments have increased significantly, and the market share has increased from 14% to 21%.

Apple: Apple Watch shipments are down 15 per cent. The Apple Watch Series 8 is still the best-selling smartwatch in the country in the second quarter, but shipments are down 25 per cent compared with the Series 7 in the second quarter of 2022.

Xiaomi: Xiaomi shipments fell 15% year-on-year, up 7% month-on-month, accounting for the largest share of the market segment with less than $50. Reduced consumer interest in entry-level smartwatches is one of the main reasons for Xiaomi's declining market share.

OPPO:OPPO grew 28% year-on-year in the second quarter, and OPPO Watch 3 and OPPO Watch 3 Pro were very popular with consumers during the 618 e-commerce event.
