CTOnews.com, Aug. 31, Microsoft 365 is a Microsoft productivity service that includes applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as some applications developed specifically for the service. Today, Microsoft announced a series of new features for free and paid users of Microsoft 365.

According to the Microsoft 365 blog post, the service's Edge and Chrome browser extensions now have a new look and feel. After installing these browser extensions, users can simply click on the Microsoft 365 icon on the taskbar and see all the content created with these applications, such as Word documents and Excel tables, through the More Docs link.

CTOnews.com notes that users of Microsoft365 applications that use the Windows version or accessed through the Microsoft365.com website can also use Microsoft Designer to generate AI applications to create new content. In addition, Microsoft 365 adds a Clipchamp function for video editing.

On the mobile side, the iOS version of the Microsoft 365 app now supports adding widgets such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Notes, PDF and Scan to the home screen of Apple's iPhone or iPad.

Microsoft said:

Widgets take up the least amount of space on your iOS device's home screen and allow you to create content with a single touch. Medium-sized widgets allow you to create three types of content from the home screen. Large widgets provide the greatest value, allowing you not only to create three types of content, but also to open recently used files with one click.

Microsoft plans to add lock screen widgets to these applications in the near future.

Finally, the Android version of the Microsoft 365 app adds support for the Clipper clipboard, allowing users to extract content from photos, videos, and apps.

Microsoft provides two ways to access:

Through the clipboard notification, this is a sticky notification from the Microsoft 365 app that stays in your notification panel and enables you to extract images and text from the current screen with one click.

With the Clipboard floating icon, you can place it anywhere on the edge of the screen, and with one click, you can extract text and images from the screen without leaving the current content.

This feature is gradually being rolled out to Microsoft 365 Android users, and the clipboard feature is not available for devices with Android working profiles.
