CTOnews.com August 30 news, Cyrus today released the 2023 semi-annual report, the current period of net profit belonging to shareholders of listed companies is negative.

The operating income in the first half of the year was 11.032 billion yuan, down 11.14% from the same period last year; the net profit loss attributed to the owner of the parent company was 1.344 billion yuan, compared with a net loss of 1.727 billion yuan in the same period last year, narrowing the loss; and basic earnings per share-0.90 yuan.

Cyrus said that the main reasons for the negative net profit attributed to shareholders of listed companies in the current period include:

Sales of existing models were affected by sales promotion in the first quarter, which led to a wait-and-see mood among users and expectations that the M5 version would be released in the second quarter, so sales fell in the first half of the year. Due to the tight supply chain and rising raw material prices in the previous year, the company prepared a certain inventory of raw materials. During the reporting period, the company digested the raw materials with higher previous costs, and its gross profit margin decreased compared with the same period last year. At the same time, the company maintains high R & D investment in the core technology field of new energy vehicles, and continues to introduce R & D and technical personnel, and R & D expenses increase compared with the same period last year.

The company said its sales and profitability were expected to improve in the second half of the year with the launch of the M5 smart driver version and other models, as well as an increase in overseas sales and a drop in raw material prices.

In the first half of this year, Selis sales totaled 92163 vehicles, down 26.66 per cent from a year earlier. Among them, Selis sold a total of 25761 vehicles in the first half of the year, an increase of 19.37% over the same period last year.

In July, Selis sold 6934 new energy vehicles (including but not limited to the AITO boundary), down 47.83% from a year earlier, and a total of 51734 vehicles were sold this year, down 12.19% from a year earlier.

At today's close, Cyrus closed at 36.69 yuan per share and currently has a market capitalization of 50.723 billion yuan. But CTOnews.com notes that Selis shares have fallen more than 50% since their June 2022 peak, down 12.25% since the start of the year.
