Officials said that the project is the first large-scale project to directly produce green hydrogen from photovoltaic power generation in China, using the rich solar energy resources in Xinjiang to produce green hydrogen directly. the hydrogen production capacity of electrolytic water is 20,000 tons per year, hydrogen storage capacity is 210,000 cubic meters, and hydrogen transport capacity is 28,000 cubic meters per hour.

Taking the Kuqa Green hydrogen demonstration project as an example, the green hydrogen produced by this project will replace the natural gas from Tahe Refining to produce hydrogen and carry out hydrogenation reaction as raw material, and finally enter into the oil products to realize the greening of oil refining products. The project can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 485000 tons per year, which is the first large-scale application of green hydrogen refining and chemical industry, and has a significant demonstration effect on large-scale use of green hydrogen to achieve carbon emission reduction.
