CTOnews.com, Aug. 30 (Xinhua)-- Toyota Motor Corp. suffered a serious system failure that affected all its 14 plants in Japan, according to Bloomberg. A Toyota spokesman said the company is currently rebooting all systems to resolve the system failure.

A Toyota spokesman said that due to the system failure, the factory could not continue to order car parts, affecting 28 assembly lines, mainly responsible for producing best-selling models such as the Carola, Camry and Prius hybrid models. CTOnews.com note: a Toyota spokesman said that the cause of the failure is currently under investigation, which can basically rule out the possibility of cyber attacks.

Toyota said that 12 of the 14 factories in Japan stopped production completely because of the system failure. Toyota's two plants in Miyada, Kyushu (Miyagi City, Fukuoka Prefecture) and Daihatsu's Kyoto plant (Daiichi Dazaki-cho, capital) are still operating, but four production lines were closed on the 29th due to the use of the same system.
