This is the first trial train from the new Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed railway (Guangzhou-Shantou high-speed railway), marking the entry of the Guangzhou-Shantou high-speed railway into the trial stage of train operation and the countdown to the opening of the entire line.

CTOnews.com noted that the Guangzhou-Shantang high-speed railway runs from Guangzhou Xintang Station in the west, through Guangzhou, Huizhou, Shenzhen-Shantang Cooperation Zone and Shanwei City, and ends in Shanwei Station in the east. The line, with a total length of about 202 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, spans two major rivers (Zengcheng Zengjiang and Boluodong River) and one bay (Shanwei Changsha Bay). There are 8 stations in Xintang, Zengcheng, Luofushan, Boluo, Huizhou South, Huidong, Shenshan and Shanwei. Among them, Xintang Station and Shanwei Station are existing stations, and the other 6 stations are newly built stations.

Guangzhou-Shantou high-speed railway, which connects Beijing-Guangzhou, Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Hangzhou-Shenzhen, Beijing-Hong Kong and other railway lines, is a key project in Guangdong Province. After the opening of operation, the minimum running time of high-speed trains from Guangzhou to Shanwei will be reduced from the current 2 hours to less than 1 hour.

In the future, relying on 3 national railways (Guangzhou-Shantou high-speed railway, Guangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railway, Guangzhou-China-Zhuhai-Macao high-speed railway Xintang station contact line), 3 intercity (New White-Guangzhou intercity, Suili-Shenzhen intercity, and Fosuipan intercity), and 5 subways (Line 13, Line 16, Line 17, Line 20, Line 28), Xintang Station will be built into an eastern hub center of "three-in-one".
