CTOnews.com August 29 news, Baidu official public account recently announced, Baidu intelligent cloud (Haikou) artificial intelligence basic data industry base located in Xiuying District of Haikou City officially started operation, this is Baidu intelligent cloud and Haikou City government cooperation to build the first large model data labeling center in China, the future will provide large model data services for all walks of life.

According to introduction, at present, the large model is in the early stage of industrial landing, high-quality data, is the key element to realize industrialization of the large model. For generative AI represented by ChatGPT and Wenxin, massive data training, manual labeling, instruction fine-tuning, and reinforcement learning based on human feedback (RLHF) can continuously align large models with human values and thinking styles, making large models more usable.

Therefore, Baidu Intelligent Cloud upgraded its large model data service capability and built the first professional large model data labeling base in China. Baidu Intelligent Cloud said that it has cooperated with local governments to build more than ten data labeling bases nationwide, providing more than 11,000 stable jobs for the local area and indirectly driving 50,000 jobs.

CTOnews.com noted that Baidu officials said that in order to ensure the quality of data labeling, Baidu Intelligent Cloud has also built a full-process data service talent echelon. Haikou data labeling base now has hundreds of full-time large model data labeling division, labeling division undergraduate rate reached 100%.

"Different from the requirements of traditional data annotators, large model annotators all need bachelor degree or above. I think it is mainly because large model data involves a wide range of knowledge and complex evaluation criteria, which greatly tests the language understanding ability and logical reasoning ability of annotators. In the first two months of employment, the company will conduct collective training and assessment for us, and we can officially take up our posts after passing the assessment. "Baidu intelligent cloud large model data annotation division Wang Jieyu said.

Baidu officials said Haikou base in the next three to five years, new employment is expected to exceed 5000 people scale. In addition, the establishment of Haikou data labeling base is only the beginning of cooperation between Haikou City and Baidu. Subsequently, digital economic industrial cluster will be jointly built to bring higher promotion to the digital economic scale and digital economic level of Xiuying District of Haikou City.
