CTOnews.com August 29, Guo Mingyi tweeted yesterday that Apple is expected to beat Samsung to become the world's best-selling smartphone brand in 2023 or 2024, sharing information about the iPhone 15 series again in today's newsletter.

Guo Mingyi said that Apple plans to release the iPhone 15 series next month, of which the pre-stock proportion of the top model iPhone 15 Pro Max is between 35% and 40%, refreshing the share of top models over the years.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max with the highest expected price accounts for about 35-40% of iPhone 15 series orders, accounting for the highest proportion. Shipments of iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2H24 also increased by 10-20% YoY compared to iPhone 14 Pro Max in the same period. This means that Apple is optimistic about the periscope selling point that only iPhone 15 Pro Max has.

Benefiting from the iPhone 16 Pro will also be equipped with periscope cameras, it is estimated that 2H24 iPhone periscope lens shipments will grow by about 70% YoY.

Huawei is currently the fastest growing and most active user of periscope among Chinese mobile phone brands. It is estimated that periscope phones will ship about 1500-20 million units this year, and next year it is expected to grow by 70-80% YoY to about 30 million units.

Daliguang is the exclusive supplier of iPhone 15 Pro Max periscope lenses and the main supplier of Huawei periscope lenses (shipments account for more than 60%). The unit price of periscope is high, about 3-4 times or more than that of ordinary high-end 7p lenses, so Dali is expected to benefit from the optical strategy of periscope actively adopted by Apple and Huawei.
