India's ISRO today officially released images of the lunar surface captured by Chandrayaan-3 lunar rover "Wisdom."

It is reported that on August 27, the lunar rover No.3 encountered a crater with a diameter of 4 meters 3 meters in front of its position. At present, it has returned to the original route under ground command and re-drove on another route.

These two photos were taken by the navigation camera on the rover's nose. Figure 1 shows the crater encountered on August 27, and Figure 2 shows the rut photographed after the rover turned around in place.

The rover, which weighs about 26 kilograms, is called Pragyaan, which means "wisdom" in Sanskrit.

CTOnews.com inquired about public information,"wisdom" lunar rover equipped with alpha particle X-ray spectrometer (APXS) and laser induced breakdown spectrometer (LIBS), its main task is to carry out scientific experiments on the lunar surface, study the composition of lunar soil near the six sites, and search for possible water ice resources on the moon.

Video footage released from ISRO showed the lander opening one side of its panel and deploying a ramp after the dust from the lander dissipated, and then the rover slowly drove up the ramp to the lunar surface.

It is worth mentioning that ISRO released the "wisdom" lunar rover leaving the six vehicles. It is worth mentioning that the first release of the lunar rover traveled a distance of about 8 meters, but that was the initial lunar surface condition detection state. It now appears that it is continuing to speed up the mission, after all, this lunar rover has no nuclear heat source, can not survive in the moonlight, only one month of daylight life (about 14 Earth days).

During its limited life, the rover will send data it collects to Vikram, and then send it back to Earth with the help of the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter, so it will take a long time.

According to the current data, the mileage of India's first lunar rover (Wisdom) has a high probability of exceeding the total mileage of 114.8 meters of China's first lunar rover Yutu.
