CTOnews.com, August 29 (Xinhua) according to a recent list released by European patent regulators, Microsoft has obtained a technology patent for Surface Duo, indicating that Microsoft's next-generation Duo phone is expected to have a foldable screen design.

CTOnews.com reported in July that Microsoft's Surface Duo 2 phone has been discontinued, while existing device users are stuck in the Android 12L released in October last year and are unable to confirm whether they can upgrade to Android 13.

According to the patent sketch, Microsoft's next-generation Surface Duo no longer contains frames and will use an integrated collapsible screen that will compete with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series and Google's Pixel Fold series if it goes public in the future.

This patent will be submitted in January 2023 and approved on August 10, 2023, under the patent number WO2023150433. At present, it is only a patent and does not indicate that Microsoft will move forward commercially.
