CTOnews.com August 29, developer Steve Moser reverse-compiled APP, indicating that X (former Twitter) and LinkedIn services are planning to add support for PassKey.

"it is not clear when X and LinkedIn will support Passkey, but it is certain that both sides have begun relevant research to show that both platforms are actively promoting password-free authentication," Moser said.

CTOnews.com previously reported that many applications and services, including Apple's macOS, code hosting platform GitHub, and password manager 1PassWord, have begun to deploy PassKey, embracing a password-free solution with a more secure and better experience.

Passkey is a digital credential that is used as an authentication method for a Web site or application. The key standard is a password-free authentication promoted by the World wide Web Consortium and the FIDO Alliance. They are typically stored by the operating system or Web browser and use the cloud to synchronize between devices from the same ecosystem, but they can also be limited to a single device, such as a physical security key. Compared with traditional authentication methods, cryptographic keys are designed to be more convenient and more anti-phishing.
