According to the Taiwan media "Economic Times" report, considering that the future market situation in Taiwan is still not optimistic, in order to reduce production costs and improve market competitiveness, relevant driver chip designers are expected to transfer more orders to mainland China, thus accelerating the mainland 55nm, 40nm, 28nm HV wafer foundry production capacity to increase, expand the relevant foundry 90nm HV foundry advantages. For example, a large number of OLED driver chip manufacturers, such as Ji Chuang North, Yi Si Wei, New Xiangwei, Gidis, Microscopy, Hayes, Yunying Valley, Xinying Technology, Weir and so on, can benefit from it.

CTOnews.com noted that according to Taiwan media, SMIC 150nm HV process foundry "price is more aggressive", crystallized 55nm, 90nm HV process foundry prices are also lower than Taiwan wafer foundry.

Set micro consulting senior analyst Wang Yongpan said that since the second half of the year, the recovery of the downstream consumer market has not reached expectations, the main LCD driver chip design manufacturers are bound to continue to be under pressure, the price war will also continue, Duntai and other regions Taiwan driver chip designer orders may further turn to the mainland, promote the mainland wafer foundry to continue to expand, and dominate the global LCD driver chip foundry market.

At the same time, Taiwan media believe that due to the transfer of orders, mainland Chinese driver chip designers will face a more fierce market competition environment, and even launch "low-price competition" between each other in order to grab orders, resulting in the industry "volume phenomenon".

However, in the long run, with the local driver chip and its contract manufacturing market share will continue to increase, the mainland is likely to become the 28nm HV mature process (150nm-40nm) the largest wafer foundry base, dominating the driver chip manufacturing market.
