From the Qi 1.0 standard released in 2010 to Qi 1.1 hand 1.2 hand 1.3, until the latest Qi 2.0 standard was put forward, it means that WPC pays more and more attention to the security of wireless charging devices. Products that use Qi technology must be rigorously tested to ensure security, compatibility and energy efficiency. Liu Jiawei said in the speech: "Qi 2.0 will comprehensively require the addition of authentication security chips at the transmitter of wireless chargers, and authentication security chips will become a necessary requirement."

WPC puts forward requirements for authentication chips from two aspects of hardware and production. In terms of hardware, one is to protect the issued manufacturer's certificate and product unit key, and the other is to protect the whole process of authentication calculation during charging; the production side is required to ensure that the key and certificate are not leaked in the factory and that the key and certificate writing process is safe and controllable.
