The patent calls the object a "digital stone" or "go stone" and can be used in extended reality systems. It allows virtual objects in the XR environment to still exist in the real world after Vision Pro is turned off. Users can carry XR content to the physical world through this object and revisit it later using the same or different XR system. For example, this object can be associated with virtual objects such as digital photos, documents, applications, or digital currency. It sounds like users can save virtual photo albums to digital stones and then give digital stones to others so that they can access virtual photo albums in Vision Pro.

Some people think that this object sounds a bit like Apple's AirTag tracker, and there are rumors that Apple is developing a second-generation AirTag that can be integrated with Vision Pro. But others question whether this object is really the most practical way to transmit or store XR content.

The patent also mentions a more complex device that may have built-in cameras and sensors such as touch, heart rate, temperature, lidar, radar, sonar, GPS, etc., and provide tactile feedback. This sounds more like a handle that can be used to manipulate objects in a XR environment, similar to some gloves used in VR systems.
