The initial transfer is expected to take place within weeks, according to people familiar with the matter.

It is understood that Boeing moved two single-aisle jets originally built for Chinese airlines out of inventory this month, and it is not clear whether they will be delivered to the original buyer, as Boeing has transferred some aircraft from inventory to alternative customers.
