CTOnews.com, August 27 (Xinhua)-- Google is developing a text-to-voice feature for the Chrome browser's reading mode, which allows browsers to read web pages aloud.

Currently, this feature can only be found in Google's experimental version of Chrome Canary, according to X user Leopeva64. When you view the article in read mode, click the play button at the top and let Google read the text for you. Leopeva64 also shared a video showing the feature on Reddit, which shows that the feature needs to be improved because the voice sounds mechanical and the title "summary" is read in a single letter instead of reading words directly.

Worth a day, Chrome's reading mode is currently a hidden feature that needs to be enabled manually. And CTOnews.com notes that Google also lags behind rival Microsoft's Edge browser, which already offers a powerful text-to-voice feature.
