CTOnews.com August 26 news, recently hackers in the dark web forum peddling more than 2.6 million neighboring countries user data, including user account name, real name, email address and other related internal data.

The data was first sold on the Breached hacking forum in January 2023 for $1500 (CTOnews.com notes: currently about 10935 yuan), and the related posts were subsequently closed. VX-Underground then discovered that hackers were peddling the data on Falcon Feeds, asking for 8 forum site points worth just $2.13.

The data was collected using a public application programming interface (API) that has been publicly shared since at least March 2023.

The API allows anyone to submit a username and retrieve public information containing that user, and supports output in JSON format. In addition, the user can call the API to retrieve emails and confirm the associated multi-neighbor accounts.

Developer Troy Hunt has integrated the data of more than 2.6 million users of neighboring countries into the website Have I been Pwned, CTOnews.com attaches a link here, users of multiple neighboring countries can click to check whether personal information has been leaked.
