When enterprises deploy services, they often customize resource allocation according to different business usage scenarios. For example, in order to achieve high resource availability, services are often deployed in different physical nodes to ensure service continuity in case of failure; sometimes, services have high network requirements, and services are deployed in the same physical node to maximize network performance between hosts without loss.

The use of cloud hosts should also be more customized. To this end, Qingyun QingCloud console has launched the placement policy group function for hosts. By creating "centralized" and "decentralized" placement policy groups and adding deployed hosts to corresponding groups, a group of hosts can be centralized or decentralized deployed on appropriate physical nodes to meet your personalized requirements for network performance and high resource availability under different usage scenarios.

Resettlement Strategy Section

The Placement Policy Group feature provides users with virtual host grouping capabilities by creating placement policy groups with appropriate relationships and adding deployed hosts to the appropriate groupings.

There are two types of placement strategy groups:

Centralization: Hosts within a placement policy group tend to deploy/migrate to the same physical node.

Decentralization: Hosts within a placement policy group tend to deploy/migrate to different physical nodes.

Create a placement strategy group

Go to the host page. (Click Compute-Host from the left navigation bar)

Go to the Placement Strategy Tab page. (Click Placement Strategy Group Tab tab)

Click the Create button

Fill in the name, select the resettlement strategy group relationship

Note: The placement policy group relationship cannot be modified after creation

Virtual Host Joins Placement Policy Group

Select a placement strategy group and click the "Associate Hosts" button to select one or more hosts to join the placement strategy group.

Note: A virtual host can only join one placement policy group. If there is more than one host in the group, the hosts may migrate according to centralized or decentralized policies.

Virtual Host Leave Placement Policy Group

Select a placement policy group and click the Unbind Host button to select one or more hosts in the host list to leave the placement policy group.

Delete Placement Policy Group

When it is no longer needed, you can do so by placing Delete in the right-click option of the Policy Group.

Note: When deleting a placement policy group, ensure that there are no host resources in the placement policy group, and unbind all hosts in the placement policy group.
