CTOnews.com, August 25, the Seventh Future Network Development Conference opened in Nanjing on August 24. Peng Song, senior vice president of Huawei and president of ICT Strategy and Marketing (Market), delivered a keynote speech on "Building an end-to-end AI Network and opening up full-scene AI capabilities."

Peng Song pointed out that network innovation in the AI era includes the goals of Network for AI and AI for Network. The former aims to build a network that supports AI business, so as to realize the AI panoramic view of the AI model from training to reasoning, from special to general, and to open up the end, edge, and cloud; the latter is to make use of the AI enabling network to make network equipment smarter, network highly autonomous, and business more efficient.

In the AI for Network section, Peng Song talked about his vision for the future of self-driving technology:

The first stage: by 2025, the network autopilot L4 will be realized, and the intelligence of network element operation and maintenance and network element service will be realized by the way of + AI.

The second stage: before and after 2030, the AI large model enables AI Native to achieve application-level and network-level L5 autopilot.

Peng Song said that AI for Network contains five major opportunities for innovation:

Telecom large model level: major operators develop and train their own communication network large models based on telecom data.

At the network device level: there are three major innovation opportunities-AI for DCN, AI for wide area networks, and AI for edge and end networks

Network brain level: there are opportunities for full-process automation from planning to business experience, which will greatly improve the efficiency of network operation and operation, and reduce the TCO of customers.

Peng Song also predicted the intelligent penetration rate of the AI industry: the third wave of AI is "oncoming", and the permeability is expected to grow from 7% in 2021 to 30% in 2026. The penetration rate in 2030 will exceed 50%. AI will unleash great potential in such scenarios as self-driving, weather forecasting and medical research and development.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Huawei Cloud released an autopilot development platform with a built-in Pangu model on July 21, which is based on the Pangu model and the ModelArtsAI development production line. At present, the platform has been used in Changan, FAW and other car companies, as well as mining trucks, port ART, dedicated logistics heavy trucks and other commercial vehicle scenarios.
