Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, August 24, Sony recently launched a miniature OLED display model called ECX344A, which is mainly used in AR and VR directions, with 4K resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate and 96% DCI-P3 color gamut.
▲ Picture Source Sony Semiconductor officials say the ECX344A display uses the "miniaturization process" achieved by Sony in the development of its camera EVF (electronic viewfinder), resulting in a 4K resolution and a high refresh rate of 90Hz in 1.3inch space to achieve "smooth and lively image quality". In addition, Sony claims that the unique pixel structure of the screen provides "excellent wide color gamut and high brightness performance" and helps "support the new experience of VR / AR headset displays".
Sony, the ▲ source Sony Semiconductor division, said that when observing the surrounding scenery in virtual space, delays and residual images can interfere with the sense of immersion, making "the brain feel that something is not in the same place". To provide smooth, clear graphics and minimal image residues, this micro display provides a peak high brightness level of 5000 cd / m ²compared to the usual 1000 cd / m ², ensuring reasonable brightness and reducing residual images.
CTOnews.com also found that the miniature display offers three display modes, and Sony claims that third-party vendors can choose according to "application conditions."
Normal mode: 4K resolution input data.
Upgrade mode: 2K to 2.5K resolution input data is interpolated to 4K resolution for display, thus reducing the load of the display device.
Scan mode: displays the image at the center of the human visual range in high resolution, similar to the technology used by Sony in PS VR 2, where the human eye renders at a normal resolution and reduces the rendering resolution where it is out of sight. Sony claims that "this helps maintain visual immersion while reducing the amount of data transmitted by about 60 per cent, reducing the workload of image processors on products using micro-displays."
