Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of clues on the way! CTOnews.com, August 23 (Xinhua) earlier this month, SpaceX conducted a static ignition of the "Starship" in preparation for the second orbital test flight, which was broadcast live. When the test was over, SpaceX's mission control team confirmed that the four Raptor II engines on the rocket shut down prematurely, indicating that there are still some technical problems with the rocket which is about to conduct the second orbital test flight.

It is reported that SpaceX has shipped the rocket body and booster back to the launch site for the next batch of pre-flight tests.

SpaceX tweeted on platform X that the "super heavy" booster had been sent to the launch pad for pre-flight testing and that the company might conduct more hot static ignition tests to assess the performance of rocket engines before flight attempts.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that NASA's Artemis Project (Artemis) was launched last year, in which NASA signed a contract with SpaceX to land a group of astronauts on the moon. They plan to land the first astronauts on Mission 3, and the SpaceX II starship is the preferred lander for this mission. According to the mission to the moon, the astronauts will leave Earth in NASA's Orion capsule and enter the starship through docking with NASA's Gatway space station or directly with SpaceX's spacecraft.

Mr. Jim Free, deputy director of the NASA Space Agency in charge of exploration system development, stressed at the meeting that SpaceX must launch "starships" many times before rockets can be ready for manned missions.

Jim Free stressed that NASA had visited SpaceX's starship facility in Texas, and his comments also suggested that NASA and SpaceX may change the schedule of Artemis 3 mission in December 2025, so that the implementation of the mission may be delayed.
