Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, August 23 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft is developing new features for its Edge browser that will bring users a more convenient experience and better privacy and security.
Leopeva64 found that Microsoft is developing two new features for the Android version of the Edge browser-device-side encryption and automatic verification code. The device-side encryption function is now available in the settings > account > password of the Android version of Edge browser, but it cannot be used yet. This feature will encrypt the new password on the device side before saving the password to Microsoft password Manager, providing users with additional privacy and security. Microsoft said the function is to "encrypt passwords on the device and then save them to Microsoft password Manager for more security."
CTOnews.com notes that device-side encryption is already available in Google Chrome browser and can be found in Settings > Auto-fill and password > Google password Management tools > Settings > set device-side encryption. According to Google, device-side encryption turns the user's device into a key to lock the password, and then saves the password to the Google password manager, meaning that only users can see their own passwords. Google also mentioned that once encryption is set, users cannot cancel it, and some sites may not be able to log in automatically after enabling the feature.
Another new feature is automatic verification of CAPTCHA, which, as the name implies, automatically verifies that the user is not a robot on the website, saving you the trouble of verifying the CAPTCHA yourself. This feature first appeared on the Chromium developer page in February and is now available on Android versions of Canary and Dev channels in Edge browsers. This feature allows other websites to confirm that the user is not a robot by saving some information in an Edge browser. This feature is not currently available on other devices, including desktop versions of Edge browsers.
