CTOnews.com, August 23, Microsoft announced in October 2022 a new design tool called Designer, which provides powerful features using generative AI technology. Designer launched a public preview in April 2023, and today Microsoft announced that Designer has become a fully integrated feature of Edge browsers, currently available only in the United States.

Microsoft said in its blog post:

With Designer in Edge, you can create amazing visual designs with just a few clicks in the browser window. On Edge, simply use the + icon in the sidebar to find Designer. When enabled, enter the content you want to create in the search bar, such as your active theme or title, and Designer will generate excellent visual design options for you to choose from, even unique images generated using DALL-E technology. You can then choose to save or copy and use it on your social media platform.

CTOnews.com noted that the Microsoft support page said that although Designer is currently in the public preview phase and is free to use, when it is officially released, some features will be available for an extra fee. There is no word on when Designer will be launched in Edge outside the United States.

Microsoft also announced that it has added some new features to Bing Chat AI chatbots in Edge browsers. Microsoft said:

For example, it can help you focus on tasks by organizing many open tabs (such as "organize news-related tabs"). You can also use the writing feature in Bing Chat to help you write emails to professors calmly and confidently. No matter where you are, Bing Chat can help you improve your work efficiency.

The latest stable version of Edge browser was released this week with added support for Edge for Business.
