CTOnews.com, August 22, according to a recent research report released by IBM, due to the popularity of generative AI, it is estimated that 1.4 billion of the global workforce (about 40%) will have to learn and master new skills in the next three years.

IBM believes in the research that the rise of generative AI will not trigger a wave of unemployment, but will create a large number of new jobs.

In the research paper, IBM analyzes in detail the impact of generative AI on various business models, and reveals how enterprises use artificial intelligence in their operations, and how artificial intelligence can realize the potential to significantly change work roles.

The IBM study, based on previous surveys of 3000 C-level executives and 21000 employees in 22 countries around the world, highlights the significant shift that artificial intelligence will bring about in companies and the workforce.

Executives interviewed said that because of the rise of generative AI, 40 per cent of employees needed to learn and master new skills in the next three years, while 87 per cent of leaders believed that AI would not replace jobs but expand jobs.

The research paper also said that employees who learned AI-related skills had an average salary increase of about 15 per cent, while companies that emphasized AI reported 36 per cent higher revenue growth than their peers.
