CTOnews.com, August 21 (Xinhua)-- German company castLabs has launched a technology called "single-frame forensics watermarking", which the company claims can be "seamlessly integrated into photos, videos and documents". Manufacturers and suppliers can use the technology to prevent leaks of relevant content and combat potential piracy.

According to foreign media TNW, the system launched by castLabs consists of "watermarking technology" and "watermark detection software based on AI", in which "single-frame forensics watermarking" technology can hide important information in a single-frame image of digital media. It is said that the system can "protect copyright content under any possible circumstances". CastLabs claims that even in the case of image distortion, the new watermarking technology can retrieve the whistleblower's ID, session information and other useful user data from a single image.

▲ image source castLabscastLabs said that through the company's platform to embed watermarks in the picture and video coding process, the "unique watermark ID" will be "strategically" hidden in pictures, video frames or other visual digital assets, providing high survival even in low bit rate videos and individual image files.

It is reported that castLabs is promoting its "single-frame forensics watermarking solution" to companies and organizations interested in "acting quickly" to combat content theft. CTOnews.com noted that castLabs also said that the watermarking system could be used in conjunction with "DRM tools" to provide "unprecedented deterrence."

CastLabs claims that potential infringers now know that copyright owners can easily track them, and that companies that deploy the watermarking system can also provide "conclusive evidence" of content ownership in order to prove unauthorized use in court, so the tool is "forward-looking".
