Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com August 21, according to The Elec, LG Display Executive Vice President Ki-Hwan Sohn announced at the K-Display Business Forum on the 18th that they are working with nine vehicle brands on OLED, including Mercedes-Benz and Cadillac, which already supply automotive OLED, and Genisse, which is scheduled to be available by the end of this year.

In addition, he also said that LG Display has been mass-producing automotive OLED of less than 20 inches, but will mass-produce automotive OLED of more than 30 inches in the world for the first time by the end of this year.

He predicts that LG will gain more than 60 per cent of OLED and more than 40 per cent of cryogenic polysilicon (LTPS) LCD in the global vehicle display panel market in 2026. Based on sales, LG displays will account for more than 50 per cent of the global vehicle display market (excluding low-end amorphous silicon (a-Si) LCD) by 2026.

According to the 2022 automotive OLED screen market report recently released by market research agency Omdia and this year's market expectation data, the distribution of automotive OLED screen market share in 2022 is as follows:

LG Display:50%

Samsung: 42.7%

BOE: 7.3%

As can be seen from the data, Samsung and LG still occupy the "dominant position" in the automotive OLED screen market, but BOE from China has gradually begun to emerge in the market. CTOnews.com believes that BOE will have a higher say in the future.

According to the Omdia report, automotive OLED screens were first mass-produced by LG in 2019, and two years later LG's market share jumped to 91.3%, while Samsung's market share was 8.7%.
