CTOnews.com August 21 news, British regulators announced on Monday that they have approved the US technology company Broadcom's $69 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 504.39 billion yuan) acquisition of VMware case, after conducting a second phase of in-depth investigation.

Britain's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) had provisionally approved the deal in July, saying it would not undercut competition in the supply of critical computer server products.

CMA said in March it was concerned the deal could make servers more expensive and launched an in-depth investigation. "After reviewing evidence gathered from Broadcom, VMware and other interested parties, an independent CMA panel tentatively found that the transaction would not significantly reduce competition for the supply of server hardware components in the UK," they said. "
