Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, August 21 (Xinhua)-- the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) today released images of the lunar surface captured by the LHDAC camera (Lander Hazard Detection and Elusion camera) on Lunar ship 3.

According to reports, the camera, developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRC), is used to help locate the safe landing zone during the descent of the spacecraft, ensuring that there are no boulders and deep trenches around the spacecraft. It includes accelerometer, altimeter, star sensor and inclinometer.

As can be seen in the picture, the camera on Lunar ship 3 captured the surface of the far end of the moon (also known as the dark side of the moon). The picture marks Hein crater (named after German astronomer Friedrich Hein), Boss crater (named after American astronomer Lewis Bois), Belicovich crater and Humboldt Sea.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced that the Lunar ship-3 lander would land on the moon around 20:34 on August 23, Beijing time, when the landing process would be broadcast live.

"Moonboat 3" was carried on the Indian heavy carrier rocket LVM3, which is 43.5m high and weighs about 642t. ISRO Chairman Somanath said that the launch mission has been a complete success, and then Moonboat 3 will begin its own journey to the moon.

According to the plan, Lunar ship 3 will make a soft landing near the South Pole of the moon before August 23. If successful, India will become the fourth country after the United States, the former Soviet Union and China to make a soft landing on the lunar surface.
