CTOnews.com August 21, Maserati recently released a track-only supercar-the MCXtrema. The car, which is based on the Maserati MC20, has 730hp power and a lightweight body of 1300 kilograms and is hailed as the spiritual successor of the legendary racing car MC12. The MCXtrema has a limited sale of 62 vehicles for as much as 963000 pounds (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 8.956 million yuan) and has sold out.

Compared with the ordinary version of MC20, MCXtrema has a huge improvement in appearance and performance. The car body uses a new carbon fiber material and aerodynamic design, adding elements such as front and rear spoiler, huge adjustable tail, overhead air intake and shark fin, which greatly increases the lower pressure.

The new car also adds a new double cross-arm suspension system, as well as track-tuned four-way racing shock absorbers, springs and anti-tilting bars, all of which can be fully adjusted. The reason why the weight of the car can be reduced to 1300 kilograms is due to the new body and upgraded chassis, which are made of ultra-light carbon fiber.

In terms of interior decoration, there is only one left seat in the car, the steering wheel has a built-in display screen, and various control buttons and knobs are distributed around, which can adjust steering, braking, engine, traction control and other parameters. On the power side, the MCXtrema uses a 3.0L V6 turbocharged engine, but two new turbochargers have been added to increase the maximum power from 621hp to 730hp.
