In addition, the new package includes three new components-the AMD SFH 1.1 driver, the AMD PMF-7040 family driver, and a strangely named AMD interface driver.

SFH, namely "sensor fusion center", is a component related to mobile devices, which can present a variety of sensing devices (such as cameras, motion sensors, etc.) to the operating system, such as Windows Hello.

The AMD PMF (platform Management Framework) here is a version of the "Phoenix" mobile processor driver specific to the Ryzen 7040 series, while the "AMD interface driver" is a mystery.

According to TechPowerUP tests, the new version of the driver has improved the performance of some older processors with 3D-V cache, but the improvements vary from model to model.

It is said that older 3D-V cache processors, such as R7 5800X3D, are based on a single CCD because the cache management mechanism is easier, while 3D-V cache processors on AM5 platforms have two CCD and separate cache subsystems.

To ensure that the correct workload is properly allocated to different CCD,AMD, special drivers have been used to assist Windows in this scheduling task.

They believe that the "AMD interface driver" here may be a back-end system to enhance the 3D cache management system, and the application may achieve a better scheduling scheme by strengthening some control over the 3D-V cache control driver.
