In the study, AAA researchers applied the 2017 L2 level of assisted driving to the Federal Highway Administration's traffic forecasts for the next 30 years to estimate how many lives could be saved and how many crashes and injuries could be avoided. But the American Automobile Association also estimates that if driving assistance remains at its current level over the next 30 years, more than 73 million people could still be injured and 850000 killed in car accidents.
