CTOnews.com August 19 news, the GNOME team recently released an update, releasing a 45 Beta version update in addition to the fourth maintenance version update for version 44 codenamed "Kuala Lumpur".

Because GNOME 44 skipped the third maintenance update, 44.4 mainly improved the Epiphany (GNOME Web) web browser, upgraded it to version 44.6, and fixed issues such as the "Save password" permission request and unencoded% characters in URL.

GNOME 44.4 also improved the GNOME Software application by disabling animation in UI based on the user's accessibility settings, fixed the application's ability to delete certain packages to meet dependency updates, and improved error notifications for failed GPG checks.

The GNOME 45 Beta version is 5 weeks away from the previous Alpha version and mainly improves the GNOME Control Center (setup) application.

The new version also readjusted the privacy panel to control various permissions in more detail; added notes to the date and time panel to explain the new "clock and calendar" options, and so on.
