CTOnews.com August 18 news, Red Hat announced in June this year that it had decided to stop providing LibreOffice packaged in RPM format in RHEL, and announced that it would adjust its priorities. CTOnews.com noted that after the adjustment, Red Hat's focus will be on "improving Wayland display server", "HDR support", and improving the workstation experience for Fedora and RHEL users.

Red Hat senior developer Bastien Nocera recently pointed out in a "New responsibilities" post on his blog that Red Hat is adjusting the development of desktop Linux.

As part of the same process outlined in Matthias Clasen's "LibreOffice packages" email, my management chain has decided to stop all upstream and downstream work on desktop Bluetooth, multimedia applications, and libfprint / fprintd. My other upstream and downstream work will be reassigned according to Red Hat's own priorities, as I will be transferred to another team to deal with one of the projects on Red Hat's priority list.

Bastien Nocera, a blog on ▲ Tu Yuan Bastien Nocera, was dissatisfied with Red Hat. "I am very disappointed because these projects are already short of resources. In the past year, I spent less than 10% of my working time on major projects, and other unrelated projects and responsibilities took up most of my time."

Bastien Nocera said that all of his Fedora packages became orphaned a month and a half ago, and Red Hat is moving a series of personnel, so the development projects are quite chaotic. People related to the RHEL package have been assigned to other posts before, and new maintainers cannot be found at the moment.
