CTOnews.com August 18 news, Facebook parent company Meta issued an internal letter to all employees yesterday, proposing a more stringent reinstatement policy. Under the new policy, employees who return to the office for less than three days a week are so serious that they may lose their jobs as a result.

CTOnews.com reported in June that Meta had already adjusted its policy to require employees to return to the office at least three days a week, which meant that Meta had become increasingly resistant to telecommuting.

It is reported that yesterday afternoon, Meta updated to its employees the guidance on the reinstatement policy announced in June. Lori Goler, head of human resources at Meta, wrote on Meta's internal forum Workplace that all employees in "assigned offices" will be required to work in the office or attend face-to-face work at least three days a week. Employees who have been approved to work completely remotely do not need to comply with the new requirements.

"Accountability will be at the core of ensuring fairness and effectiveness, and Meta managers will be responsible for following up on employee clocking in every month to ensure that they comply with the new reinstatement requirements," Lori Goler said. "if employees fail to comply with the rules for many times, they may be subject to disciplinary action or even lose their jobs."

Lori Goler also claimed that "in accordance with local laws and labor committees, managers will review employees' badges and status tools every month and follow up on those who do not meet the requirements. As with other company policies, repeated violators may be subject to disciplinary action, which may lead to a downgrade of performance ratings. If not corrected, you may eventually be fired."
