The reason for the recall: due to problems with the software strategy of the battery system in some vehicles within the scope of this recall, after a long period of frequent fast charging or long-term parking, the pressure difference inside the power battery gradually increases, and the pressure difference exceeding the design value may lead to the limited power driving of the vehicle. In extreme cases, electricity may occur under high voltage, the vehicle loses power, and there are safety risks.

Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. said the recall was carried out after the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration launched a defect investigation. Affected by the investigation, the battery management system software of vehicles within the scope of the recall will be upgraded free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

CTOnews.com previously reported that in February last year, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled some Chery eQ1 electric vehicles produced from June 1, 2018 to July 31, 2018, totaling 8067.

The reason for the recall at that time was that the protection of the internal parts of the brake master cylinder of some vehicles was not standard in the production process, resulting in damage to the piston of the brake master cylinder due to bumping, which in extreme cases may lead to lower braking efficiency, longer braking distance and safety risks.
