CTOnews.com, August 18, according to a statistical report released by Everypixel Journal, artificial intelligence has generated 15 billion images in the past 18 months since 2022, equivalent to the amount taken by human photographers in 150 years.

The report points out that of the 15 billion images generated, 80% are from open source models, and people use the AI generation tool to create 34 million images a day.

Since 2022, 15 billion photos have been created using the text-generated image algorithm. For comparison, it took 150 years for human photographers to reach 15 billion from 1826 to 1975.

People create an average of 34 million images a day, and the most popular generation tool is DALL-E 2.

Adobe Firefly is the fastest growing, generating 1 billion images in just three months of release.

12.59 billion images were created using open source generated AI models, services, and platforms, accounting for about 80 per cent.

Although many AI images come from open source models, paid AI generation tools are also very popular. For example, Midjourney has the largest user community, more than 15 million.
