CTOnews.com August 18, Jamf Threat Labs recently issued a press release saying that it has developed a post-exploit persistence technology that can pretend to turn on flight mode on an iPhone running iOS 16.

The lab said the purpose of the demonstration of the attack was to make iPhone users look as if they had turned on flight mode, but still did not disconnect the WiFi from the cellular network.

This attack relies mainly on SpringBoard, which handles UI elements, and CommCenter, which deals with network connections.

IPhone users will not be aware of any difference after a successful attack pretends to turn on flight mode.
