Reasonable arrangement to facilitate passenger travel must ensure that the total number of waiting seats in the waiting area is not reduced.

The number of multi-purpose waiting seats must not exceed 20% of all waiting seats.

The multi-function waiting seats shall be set up in each waiting area in a decentralized and balanced manner, and shall not affect the waiting and passage of passengers.

Strengthen inspection and maintenance, improve passenger experience and regularly carry out electricity safety inspection, hygiene and cleaning and sterilization to ensure that the multi-functional waiting seats are in good condition.

In the multi-functional waiting seat area, the eye-catching position specification sets up the sign of "free seating, code-scanning massage", and publishes the service supervision telephone number.

Comprehensive investigation and rectification shall be carried out before the end of August in accordance with the law. If the number, specification, layout, status and hygiene of the multi-purpose waiting seats do not meet the requirements, the rectification shall be put in place within a time limit.

For stations with large passenger flow and insufficient waiting area, the proportion and number of multi-function seats will be further reduced.

While putting forward the above requirements, the railway department also recently criticized the operation and service of multi-function waiting seats (that is, massage seats) in Taian high-speed railway station, requiring railway stations all over the country to conduct self-examination and rectification of the existing problems, so as to ensure that they are in good condition and standard of operation.

According to the Peninsula Morning Post, the Taian high-speed railway station has recently been complained by many passengers because of the nearly 500 seats in the waiting room, shared massage chairs account for 90%, resulting in a shortage of seats in the waiting room during the rush hour. In addition, the comfort and hygiene of these massage chairs have also been questioned by passengers.
