Installation failed: according to user feedback on Feedback Hub, there was a red dot warning that could not be cleared from the taskbar during the installation of the KB5029263 update released on August 9.

Another user reported that the installation of the update would be stuck at 96%, and the attempt to restart was still invalid.

File manager jammed some users reported that although the KB5029263 update could be successfully installed, the explorer.exe process was jammed after the update and could not perform the operation.

One user left a message: "I upgraded the cumulative update on August 12, 2023, and the system automatically installed KB5029263 and KB5028948. After installation, the file manager cannot open any folders or files, and the background shows that the application is running, but does not work."

Surface Pro X also encountered problems when Microsoft's own Surface Pro X was unable to call the Snapdragon X24 LTE modem after installing the August update. In device Manager, when the user clicks the LTE modem label, the error message "device failed to start. (Code 10)" will pop up, followed by "(operation failed) the requested operation is not successful."

"Device install required" is displayed in the event viewer, with "Device QCMS\ VEN_QCOM&DEV_0489&SUBSYS_MSWW8180\ 3&33c1b731&0&0 required further installation" written below, indicating that this update is causing a driver problem.

The Surface Pro X owner tried to reinstall the driver and refresh the driver using the driver available on the Microsoft website, but could not resolve the problem caused by the update.
