CTOnews.com August 17 news, the PC handset market may usher in new competitors. Lenovo is developing PC, a handheld game that runs Windows, called Legion Go, Windows Central reported last month. On Wednesday, Windows Report unveiled the first rendering of the device.

Judging from the picture, Lenovo's handheld game PC has many similarities with devices such as the Steam Deck and Asustek ROG Ally, but also has a lot in common with the Nintendo Switch. According to Windows Report, the Legion Go has an eight-inch screen and the picture shows two Joy-Con-like controllers that can be removed, and even a wide bracket similar to the Switch OLED.

CTOnews.com noticed that the Legion Go seems to have only one touchpad on the controller on the right, compared to the touchpad on both sides of the Steam Deck, but there is a wheel on the back of the controller on the right. And because the controller can be removed, it is speculated that the screen is a touch screen.

These pictures show that perhaps Lenovo did not deliberately avoid making the Legion Go heavy. Although Asustek ROG Ally is light and thin, it leads to poor battery life.

Windows Report said Legion Go will run Windows 11, meaning it should be able to play any Windows game that supports the device's specifications. Windows Central has previously reported that it will use the AMD Phoenix processor, which is also used in ROG Ally and other recent or upcoming Windows handsets.

CTOnews.com notes that Lenovo has dabbled in handheld gaming devices in the past, showing the "LaVie Mini" concept machine with NEC at CES in 2021, and developing an unreleased Android-based device, the Legion Play,Legion Go, seems to be a more serious attempt.
