CTOnews.com August 17, Microsoft today released a preview update of Windows 11 on Canary Channel, version 25931, which includes some new features from the recently developed channel version, as well as some other new features, improvements and bug fixes.

There is also a small improvement in this update: it allows users to uninstall more pre-installed applications. These applications come with the system, and some users may not need them. Users can right-click on these apps and choose to uninstall, saving some space and making the start menu cleaner.

According to the release notes for version 25931, Windows 11 now allows you to uninstall photo applications, networking applications, and remote desktop clients. However, only the photo application is visible in the start menu, and the networking application and remote desktop client need to be uninstalled in the settings application. Users can press Win + I (or other ways to open settings) to enter applications > installed apps, click the three-point button next to the program you want to remove, and then click Uninstall.

With the release of version 25931, contacts, photos and remote desktops have been added to the list of pre-installed apps that can be easily uninstalled. Microsoft has previously allowed users to remove camera apps and Cortana without using unconventional methods such as winget or third-party unloaders.

The latest version of Windows 11 Canary also includes improvements to the details pane in File Explorer, mouse and keyboard synchronization to make Windows theme colors compatible with dynamic lighting, new emoticons, changes to DC locators, and more.
