According to CTOnews.com news on August 16, Tencent Holdings today released its results for the second quarter of 2023, with revenue of 149.2 billion yuan, up 11% from the same period last year, and net profit of 26.17 billion yuan, up 41% from the same period last year.

Tencent Holdings reported that the group had 104500 employees on June 30, down about 1700 from 106200 on March 31.

The total cost of compensation for the six months ended June 30, 2023 is 54.069 billion yuan. If only based on the number of employees on June 30, the average monthly remuneration for Tencent employees is about 86000 yuan, which may actually change.

Tencent is not the only giant that has reduced its headcount. CTOnews.com previously reported that Alibaba had 228675 employees as of June 30, compared with 235216 at the end of March, meaning Alibaba lost 6541 employees in a single quarter.
