CTOnews.com, August 16 (Xinhua)-- according to PTI, India's largest news agency, Apple and Foxconn have signed a new agreement to invest $400 million (CTOnews.com Note: about 2.92 billion yuan) to expand its plant in Hyderabad, India's fourth largest city, to produce AirPods TWS headphones for Apple.
It is reported that Apple has decided to produce AirPods headphones in India, and Foxconn plans to invest $400 million to expand its plant in Hyderabad, with initial plans to start mass production in December 2024, meaning that the Indian-made AirPods will not be available until 2025.
CTOnews.com inquired about the media report and did not mention which AirPods models would be produced in India, but it had previously been reported that Foxconn had invested $200m.
